I'm pretty sure I tore my right ACL.  It sucks so bad.

Andrew moved back or is moving back really soon.  I'm not what you call in the loop any more.

Head to DRKN to check out some photos

I'm going to redesign the site over the next week or two so be excited cause this shit's finally changing.

Band and Ramp Jam is Sept. 6th.  Click the banner above to check their myspace.

Issue 8 is still slightly delayed but will be out by September.

Drkn edit will be done soon.  Should be really good.

Four weeks away from Pittsburgh!!!  I'm pretty sure everyone's super excited.

Went to the state fair today with Audi.  Had a lot of fun.

Noblesville yesterday.  Shit was really fun.  David, Josh, Nick, Dane, and myself all went.  Not a lot of great stuff went down but we had a lot of fun.

It looks like a pretty heavy session went down at the courthouse 9.  Check DRKN for more.

I guess Just Ride isn't closing and there's a lot of rumors revolving around the whole ordeal.  Here's what I know for sure: the shop moved out, there site's down and I'm done with it, and there's a lot of drama.

Pittsburgh's less than a month away.

Drkn Summer edit will be done by the end of the month.

Noblesville tomorrow to film for DRKN and hang out with Pat and Kole.

8-7-08

Pat and  his fiancee Jenny came up last night to hang out.  We talked over some video stuff and we're supper pumped on Pittsburgh.  Also a short edit/commercial that Pat filmed in the spring should be up soon.

Just Ride is closed as far as I know.  From what I heard, Brian got really shady about a lot of stuff and may be going to jail.  Also there site's down for good because Brian never paid me.

On the same note, Solutions has completely moved out of the park.  I think they're looking at either the mall or somewhere near campus.

Nate and Martha went to a race in Davenport last weekend.

I know I said issue 8 is done but I've decided to add another article or two.  (Late submissions.)  I think it'll just make the issue better though so I'm not stressing over it.

Check this chick's online store out.  Hopefully I can get a copy or two and I'll have a review up.

Somehow I've forgot to post this.  Here's the cover of issue 8.

Not much to post but hopefully in the next few days there will be.  I've been busy doing the dad thing for the last couple weeks.

Nate and Martha will be staying in Anderson because Martha just accepted a teaching job.  That means Anderson will be getting a set of trails in the near future.  Also, Tim Crane's got a fun little track with some jumps in the works and a fun little mini in his barn (that we rode tonight actually).

Like I said before though, Issue 8's out now and is damn good.  Natural Rebellion will hopefully be getting off the ground soon too.  Audra and I are going to be looking into an online store/distro for zines and other things we plan to publish.  Believe me, I've got a lot of things floating around in my head (including a photo zine).

Finally, Nate's race/freestyle video (don't know the name yet or if there is a name yet) won't be out until November-ish.  We might get lucky and have our Pittsburgh trip on there too.  We'll see.

Band and Ramp Jam will be September 6th.  Flier soon.

Issue 8 is out!!!

Sadly the Underground has been shut down due to noise.

Lastly, prayers go out to Kyle and Karl Poynter's family as they lost there father a week or two ago.

We will be in Pittsburgh September 11th-14th if all goes well.  We should have most of the team too.  Not sure what we're going to do with the footage but there should be good stuff regardless.

2 years since Issue 1!!!

I just found this on the come up board about Nate's wreck.  It's actually pretty crazy:
wow. I cant believe how fast this has blown up.
I am on tour for a video with riders who do it all. top racers who can flow any trails, pulling 3s, turndowns, whatever you want; shred any park, be it 6 foot invert airs or backwards manual 180s or 3s down stairs; and street it all night - gaps, rails, wallrides, whatever.
We hit up Pittsburgh, PA, for the national there, then hit up the new park there with Walkoviack and his local guys, then hit up Push 2 and PTT trails over the weekend. Rain hit us hard, we started to head to Brickhouse indoor park, Doyle was there and had a key for a late session, but sky cleared and we really wanted to hit Potocsnys house... but on the way there, Rain again. Then we picked up another dude from the airport and headed on up to Akron, OH we had to be at the Race track that evening. Great turnout, about 100 kids and 40 or so cars there, some of the guys fired up a 30foot plus triple the track operator had just built... then we hit up the park right next door. It was close to sunset, and a stunningly beautiful one... so we got some really good pictures of some airs and other things. We then went on to some kids house, they had a small dirt spine/box type thing, a rhythm section, a couple berms and double jumps, and a kinda big kicker to a dirt landing. Lights, headlights and about 40 people made for a rowdy good time late into the night.
the next morning, filmed some recaps back at the park, awesome morning. blue sky, about 20 skaters and bikers all hanging out, no fights, no vibes, just good fun.
Up to this time, the trip was awesome. Good, good times. riding everything, no street yet, due to rain, but still fun.
We were about to pack up to head to Parma trails, most of the guys were all over at the cars, and I turned a quarter, took one crank, slow/mod speed, I was on the main drag of traffic back and forth, and this guy comes barreling out of the bowl section. It opens right out into the main section, so you always are careful right there. I barely had time to see him out of the corner of my eye when he t-boned right into my left side. The collision didn't seem that hard, I kinds stepped off my bike and took a couple steps and turned around, he was sitting there, I asked him if he was alright, he said yeah, reached for his bike, then grabbed his ribs, his eyes rolled up, and he sank to the ground. I yelled for someone to call 911, about 3 people did right away, I looked back down, and his face turned blue, his eyes turned glassy, and he quit breathing, his body relaxed. I knew I had just seen him die. I yelled for CPR, a dad was right there who was a fireman, another mom was a nurse, and they started, another dad came up, former Akron police officer, and they worked on him for the 9 minutes it took for the EMT to get there.

EMT were there less than 10 minutes. CPR was started on this guy less than 3 minutes after impact. My personal belief is that he died within the first 2 minutes of impact. They revived pulse and breathing at least 6 times during that time... but his eyes and face... he was gone. The former officer told me it was "reflexive breathing".

the detective told me that it was the same thing that happens when a ball hits someone in the chest in the right place. the heart is knocked out of rhythm, cant get started by CPR. He had enough blood in his brain to think he was ok, answer me, grab for his bike, then boom.

Life is fragile, guys. Here we are, on the tour, almost 24 hours later. We have ridden trails, another track, eaten, laughed, showered, slept, had fun. We are looking forward to another day at Ohio Dreams, which has a great Park, trails, Track, another good day. And this guys is gone. One minute riding around the park, the next, gone.

Tell someone you love them, and look at the sunset once in awhile. get off the computer, put away the hate, and live some life.
Nate Strieby.

Drew just sent me his article so Joel's is the only thing missing from issue 8.  Full content list up later today.

I'm ordering some buttons from Decaying Youth.  I'm getting 100 of them so be on the look out for them.  They're running a sale for July so if you want some quality buttons check them out here.

I'm also on the look out for zines so if you have any or know someone that does, shoot me an e-mail so I can figure out a way to get a copy.

David, Josh, and I rode around for a bit last night.  Nothing great but I had fun.  Drkn is filming a summer edit where everyone will have parts.  Expect that later this  summer.

Sybilla (of Youth Culture Killed My Dog fame) has a livejournal with some cool stories on  it.  She's an interen at some hippy house/food kitchen in California (from what I understand).

I also have taken a lot of the content off of the main page so it should load faster.  If you still want to check something, it's in the archive.

My daughter was born last Thursday.

Nate's got a lot of things in the works.  I'll post some about it as I find out.

I posted a few days ago about Jeremy Lacky.  I guess he just lost a kidney.  There will be a jam for him  since he didn't have insurance.

Alan

7-8-08

I will officialy be a father Wednesday night or Thursday morning.  Audra and I are both really excited.

More bad news comes from up north:
One of Luke Strieby's friends broke their collar bone at the Strieby trails.  The next day Jeremy Lackey went down super hard at Brad's house and ruptured both his spleen and a kidney.  Apparently he had to be lifelined to Ft. Wayne so we're wishing the best for both of them.

Two days in a row.  Getting crazy.  Pirad Fest 2 is coming up.  Go to it if you can.  Like usual, click for full size.

It looks like there will be several new/newer zines popping up in the very new future.  Hopefully this will be a continuing trend.

Holy shit it's been a while.  I don't have internet so sorry for the long long delays.

For those of you who don't know, Nathan was involved in a horrible horrible accedent in Akron (I think).  I won't put details but Nate made it out fine but the guy he colided with ended up passing away.  Prayers go out for both families as everyone trys to deal with everything.

On a brighter note, the Just Ride contest was yesterday.  I ended up in 4th in expert and Glenn ended up winning pro.  Super good time and hope a lot more people show up next year.

Issue 8 will be out within the next two weeks.  ConterActive finally sent their e-mail back so I'm just waiting for Joel and Drew to send me their stuff.

For those that didn't know, Audra (my wife) and I should be parents within the next week.  I'm super excited.

I shot some photos with Maddog a few days ago that should be up within the next week.

David, Nick, Josh, Junar, and all the darken guys have been filming for a summer mixtape.  Should be done about August.

As far as I know, the Pittsburge trip should still be on.

I've been thinking about starting a record label in the kind of near future.  It all depends on time and money.

Also, I know it's a long way off but we're planning on moving to Indy in the next year and a half(ish).

First off, Band and Ramp Jam is supposed to be August 30th.  I just realized today that I'm supposed to shoot a wedding that day so who knows.  I'll talk to Joel about it tonight.

I pulled the Up! Scumbag interview off my video camera last night and the tape cut out part way threw it so it stops abruptly.  It'll still be in issue 8.

The Hardcore Sportz article won't be in issue 8 due to some personal issues that Kyle's dealing with.  We with them the best though.

Natural Rebellion Zine might actually happen after my baby's born.  Audra and I have been talking about it for a while.

Junar supposedly wrecked his car yesterday.  Haven't talked to him to find out what's going on.  Check DRKN for the "story".

Here are some Indy photos that I promised would be up Monday.  There wasn't enough to make a seperate page so there you go.

Photos from my wedding will be up on my myspace so if you're interested, go check them out.

David and DRKN trekked back down to Columbus a few days ago.

Joel e-mailed me today and told me that the official band and ramp jam date will be decided in the next few days.  I'll post it when I find out.  Speaking of BARJ, there's talk of a DVD this year and new ramps (including the PoB ramp).

I'm moving my ramp up to Joel's parent's house soon and hopefully it'll get a face lift and used more than it is now.  I'd love to build something else but don't have the time or money to fuck with it.

Jross seems to be on a mission lately as he fired out a few 3's down the courthouse 9 a few days ago.  He's been doing a lot of bigger things (and faster) so expect some good footy and photos up soon.

Issue 8 is in full swing.  I still haven't done CounterActive's interview but Sean Burns and Up! Scumbag's interviews are both already in.  Drew Janiszyn (Joel's brother) is also going to be writing some stuff too.  If you want to submit, hit me up at contact@punksonbikes.com.
